After connecting with numerous local business owners and a prior failed business, Derek Edwards saw a need for a provider of integrated technology solutions in the Columbus, Ohio area. There were independent firms offering web development, others offering software and a couple bigger names offering product development. None really offered a good solution when it came to integrating different technologies.
With some saved capital and a team of three friends, Derek decided to launch Novition. Originally branded as an engineering services firm, Novition went through some sigificant changes over the coming year to best serve our customers.
Novition acquired its first significant customer, focusing on ASP.Net development. In the following weeks, we quickly connected with several other people that would later become clients.
After many discussions, it was decided that our original Novition name left something to be desired. We wanted a name that was unique, would stand out in peoples' minds and, most importantly, wouldn't imply that we had "no vision." In February 2008 we officially announced our name change to KappaStone Technology Ltd.
KappaStone moved into its new offices on W 5th Ave, locating us closer to Ohio State University campus and TechColumbus.
